Public hearing on drinking water arsenic slated for August 19th

Just announced at Socorro's latest city council meeting: there will be a public hearing on Wednesday, August 19th, at 6 p.m. at city hall to present the draft environmental information document (a document required by the National Environmental Policy Act) for the proposed treatment facility to remove arsenic from Socorro's city water supply. Mayor Bhasker made it a point to request that "those putting up posters around town" about the arsenic problem and the city's handling of it, should make it a point to attend. For those unable to attend, Socorro News will report on the hearing.
